25 to 29-year olds can now get their Covid-19 vaccine in Lincolnshire

From 7am this morning, (Tuesday, June 8) the NHS vaccination programme has moved into a younger age bracket by inviting all people of 25-29 years old to come forward for their Covid-19 vaccine.

Jabs are also available to book online before receiving an invite.

Trisha Thompson, from NHS England and NHS Improvement’s Midlands vaccination team, said that the last six months have brought out the best in their NHS staff in the Midlands region. They are working to ensure they lead the way in the Midlands to roll out the biggest vaccination programme in the history of the NHS.

“We are delighted to be able to invite people aged 25 to 29 across the Midlands to come forward to receive their vaccines - as well as continuing to encourage those who have not yet received both doses to come forward.”

NHS staff and volunteers in the East and West Midlands were the first regions in England to reach 10 million vaccine doses in May.

Since then, the hard work has continued throughout the region.

The past week has been volunteers week (1-7 June) in Lincolnshire, with several volunteers participating in a variety of roles in Lincolnshire’s vaccination centres.

They have played a vital role particularly at the mass vaccination sites at the Lincolnshire Showground and PRSA in Boston.

How to book your vaccination

Once invited, you will be able to find your local vaccination centre through the national booking service.

Your text invite, an alert from ‘NHSvaccine’, will include a web link to the NHS website to reserve an appointment. You can also call 119 to book your jab if you are unable to go online.

Tell your NHS: What does the vaccine mean to you?

NHS England and NHS Improvement are encouraging everyone in the Midlands to share what the vaccine means to them by sharing pictures or videos on social media using the hashtag #WhatItMeansToMe

Every submission will be considered to form part of a virtual celebration of the Midlands’ vaccination programme, which NHS organisations across the East and West Midlands plan to unveil in unison on the 73rd birthday of the NHS on Monday 5 July.
